Baked opened its doors this week in a gorgeous little shop just off ecclesall road. With a welcoming pale pink exterior and huge window you’re sure I notice the lovely cakes on display. The inside is simple but welcoming with a slight industrial feel. Sitting on a stool by the window makes for optimal people watching.
Food and drink
Specialising in vegan and free from products everything on offer is animal and gluten free.
I had the hot chocolate which was incredible, for £3.20 I got a generous mug of hot chocolate topped with whipped cream, a chocolate truffle, a giant marshmallow and a drizzle of chocolate sauce! It’s so perfect for this time of year as a break from Christmas shopping.
They also offer locally roasted coffee with a choice of plant milk or milkshakes.
The food offering is all sweet at the moment, with layer cakes, cupcakes, cookies and doughnuts all on the counter. They also have classic mince pies as a seasonal special.
The cake specials when I went were fererro Rocher and Black Forest. I chose to take a piece of the classic chocolate and hazelnut flavoured cake away with me to enjoy at home in front of a christmas flick.
This place is dangerously close to work for me and I can honestly say it is a place I can see myself coming on a regular basis. You get a friendly, smiling welcome and it’s calm and relaxing atmosphere means it’s the perfect place for a cosy up with a book. I wish Baked all the best and hope it is here to stay!
